Singapore is fortunate to have a government who places great emphasis on helping the people undergo lifelong learning. This is essential in creating a workforce which is competitive and resilient, while helping Singaporeans to reach their fullest potential.
APTS extends our appreciation to the former Workforce Development Agency (WDA) staff who started the important initiative in 2003. As of 2016, some of its work have moved to SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), a new statutory board under the Ministry of Education (MOE). WDA at the same time became a new statutory board, Workforce Singapore (WSG). WSG shall continue its mandate to support enterprises.
Creating a Vibrant Singapore
By working wisely with the increasing non profit entities which are usually made up of people with great passion for good causes, the government is tapping into vital resources. APTS has been in humble ways contributing to the training industry. We have members who are appointed as consultants for SkillsFuture to provide training for the SF Advice Workshops. We continue to look forward in supporting the the government through the sharing of our members’ experiences in the training industry, providing deep insights and up to date ground sentiments and needs. Working together, the government and APTS bless the people in creating vibrant industries for Singapore.
